A simple canning recipe with no extra fuss. Pear jam—bright, with a delicate flavor that is sure to remind you of a wonderful summer day on a cold winter day. The preserve is ready to store for winter.
Instructions

Step 1

Wash the pears. I wash them first with vinegar, then rinse with water, then wash with hydrogen peroxide, then with water again.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the pears in half and remove the seeds.
- 3
Step 3

Using a blender, puree the pears—not too thin. You can add water if you like.
- 4
Step 4

Transfer the purée to a saucepan and cook over low heat, adding the remaining ingredients and stirring constantly so it does not burn. When it thickens, the jam is ready.

Step 5

Using a funnel or just a spoon, spread the jam into sterilized jars. Leave 1 cm of free space at the top. Cover the jars with lids.
