Grissini with cheese
Description
You can find these breadsticks in almost every café and pizzeria, and in Italy, where they come from, they’re called grissini—and now I’ll tell you how to make them. The cheese grissini recipe I’m sharing with you is quite simple, and you’ll have no trouble with it. If you’re wondering what to serve grissini with, it all comes down to your preferences. My husband, for example, eats them with soup or as a beer snack, while my kids and I can polish off the whole batch just as they are, with nothing else. Trust me, this bake is truly delicious and wonderfully fragrant, so be sure to try making cheese grissini at home. The appetizer is ready. Serve right away.
Instructions

Step 1

To start, we need to prepare the dough. I do this in a bread machine—I simply add all the ingredients (except the Parmesan) and start the "First Rise" program. But you can do it by hand: pour warm water over the dry yeast and mix, then add salt, sugar, butter, and sifted flour, and knead a soft, elastic dough. Place it in a bowl, cover with a towel, and leave it in a warm place for one hour.

Step 2

When the dough has risen in volume, grate the Parmesan.
- 3
Step 3

Mix the cheese into the dough and place it in a warm place again for another hour.
- 4
Step 4

Next, dust a flat surface with flour and place the prepared dough on it. Cut or pinch off small pieces from the dough.
- 5
Step 5

Then roll pieces of dough into tubes about the width of a pencil and 20–25 cm long.
- 6
Step 6

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the grissini on it, leave them in a warm place for 15-20 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Then place in an oven preheated to 180–200°C and bake for 20–25 minutes.

Step 8

And then the whole family crunches on fragrant, delicious sticks.
