1. It is better to choose larger mushrooms so you can fit more filling inside. First, wash them, pat them dry thoroughly, and carefully remove the stems. The caps should remain intact. The classic recipe for cheese-stuffed mushrooms baked in the oven calls for button mushrooms, but you can use any other mushrooms you like.

2. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Finely chop the mushroom stems and sauté over medium heat until cooked through. If desired, add a little chopped onion. Season with salt and pepper as you cook.

3. Place the cream cheese and sautéed mushroom stems in a deep bowl. Add salt and red pepper flakes to taste. Peel the garlic and pass it through a press or mince with a knife. Wash the spinach beforehand, pat dry, and chop finely. Combine all the ingredients and mix thoroughly until smooth. Cheese-stuffed mushrooms baked in the oven at home do not require any special spices.

4. Pour the breadcrumbs into a small bowl. Grate the hard cheese on a fine grater and mix with the breadcrumbs. If desired, add a little garlic powder for flavor.

5. Fill the mushroom caps to the top with the cheese filling and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Sprinkle the tops with a mixture of breadcrumbs and grated cheese. Add a pinch of chopped herbs. Drizzle with a small amount of olive oil and bake in a preheated oven. In just 12–15 minutes, cheese-stuffed mushrooms baked at home will be ready. They are best served hot, but they remain delicious when cold as well.
