
Mushroom pâté for winter
Description
Perfect for stocking up for winter. The base for this dish can be absolutely any mushrooms (whatever you like), but you can also make mushroom pâté for winter at home using even ordinary button mushrooms. It takes about 2 hours (if you are sealing jars and sterilizing). Store in a cool, dark place.

1. Autumn is mushroom season, and how could you not put away a couple of jars of mushroom pâté for winter? It’s made as simply as possible—the same way as meat pâté. So, clean the mushrooms, cut them into 4–6 pieces, and fry them in a pan.

2. Now add the white mushrooms to the pan in the same amount. Fry until fully cooked.

3. Fry the onion separately (until it turns golden brown).

4. Add the cooked onion to the mushrooms, pour in a glass of water, and simmer until all the liquid has evaporated.

5. Transfer the prepared mixture to the blender bowl and start blending. You should end up with a smooth, uniform paste. Add salt and seasonings to taste.

6. Then pack into clean jars, sterilize for 10 minutes, seal, and store in the pantry.

7. Ready homemade mushroom pâté for winter can be eaten right away after preparation. It makes an excellent base for sandwiches.
