Toast with Tomatoes and Cheese

Description

A delicious appetizer for any gathering. If you like the combination of garlic with tomatoes, you can press a couple of garlic cloves and spread them on warm bread before adding the cheese. Here the croutons are meant to be served cold, but you can always bake them in the oven together with the filling. Serve the appetizer at the table.

   Wash and dry the tomatoes and basil, finely chop them, peel and mince the onion. Mix everything together, add oil, sauce, salt, and pepper.

   Cut the loaf into pieces about 2 cm thick. Now toast the bread pieces until golden brown in a skillet or on a grill without oil.

   While the bread is still warm, spread cheese on one side, crumbling it. Then top the cheese with the vegetable filling.
