Fried bread with onion
Description
Perfect on the table and with drinks. Colorful onion croutons are ideal instead of bread when serving with a first course: soup, borscht, rassolnik, and so on. You can take them with you on the road, to work, or on a picnic. They are especially delicious with various sauces, sour cream of any fat content, and pâtés. They can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. It is best to buy white or red onion, as it is less bitter in taste. Peel it and rinse in water.
- 2
Step 2

Beat the chicken eggs into a deep container or bowl, add the vegetable seasoning, and whisk with a fork for about 1–2 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the onion into small cubes and add the chopped onion to the beaten egg mixture. Sprinkle in ground black pepper and mix.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and reduce the heat to medium. Dip the bacon slices on both sides in beaten egg and use a fork to place onion slices on a slice of bread. Place the toasts in the skillet with the side that has the onion slices facing down so the onion cooks right away. Fry on one side for 2 minutes, then flip with a silicone spatula to the other side. Fry for 2 minutes as well.

Step 5

Place the golden-brown croutons with onion on a plate and serve hot.
