Buckwheat with pork ribs
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The juicy side dish with meat will turn out very rich, flavorful, and filling. You can prepare it in advance and cover it with a towel to keep it warm longer. There's no need to add butter—the ribs are fatty enough. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Peel the onion and rinse it under water.
- 2
Step 2

Wash the pork ribs in water, trim off the tendons and membranes from the meat. Cut the ribs into portion-sized pieces. Heat vegetable oil in a cauldron and place the cut ribs into it.
- 3
Step 3

Sauté them for about 5-7 minutes. Meanwhile, slice the onion into half-rings and add it to the pan. Sauté for another 1-2 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Pour in hot water and simmer the ribs over medium heat for about 35–40 minutes. Remove the foam that forms on the surface of the broth. Add bay leaves.
- 5
Step 5

Rinse the buckwheat groats in water, removing any black grains.
- 6
Step 6

Pour it into the container with the ribs. Since some water will evaporate, you can add some boiling water. Cook the grain over moderate heat for about 15 minutes. Add salt.
- 7
Step 7

Then turn off the heat and let the buckwheat steam, covered, for another 10 minutes so it can absorb the excess liquid.
- 8
Step 8

Place the dish on plates and serve hot.
