Buckwheat with pork
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If you don't have olive oil on hand, you can easily substitute it with sunflower oil. The porridge turns out to be a completely standalone and very tasty hot dish. Optionally, you can add a tomato to the recipe, adding it at the stage when you add the ketchup. This will add a slight tanginess. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Place the pot over heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the washed buckwheat and sauté for about 3-4 minutes.
- 2
Step 2
Temporarily remove the buckwheat from the container and set it aside. Instead, add another 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the pot and add the previously chopped onion and grated carrot. Sauté for 4-5 minutes, until the vegetables become soft.
- 3
Step 3
Add the ground meat to the saucepan and continue cooking until half-done.
- 4
Step 4
Add ketchup and minced garlic. Mix well.
- 5
Step 5
Add the previously lightly roasted buckwheat back into the pot with the remaining ingredients and pour boiling water over it. Add salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
- 6
Step 6
Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and simmer over low heat until the porridge becomes soft (approximately 15 minutes).
- 7
Step 7
Remove the porridge from the heat and let it stand for about 10 minutes without stirring. Then stir well and serve.
