Buckwheat with meatballs
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. My family loves buckwheat, and I cook it quite often. I have to come up with main dishes to go with it, which sounds strange, but true. Recently I tried a recipe. The finished dish can be served at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Add egg, salt, ground black pepper, and one grated onion to the prepared minced meat. Mix everything until uniform.
- 2
Step 2

With wet hands, shape the minced meat into medium-sized meatballs and place them on the working surface.
- 3
Step 3

Peel and wash the second onion and the carrot. Finely chop the onion, grate the carrot, and sauté in vegetable oil until golden brown.
- 4
Step 4

When the vegetables are browned, add the grain and carefully spread it evenly over the entire pan. Pour in water or broth two fingers' width above the level of the buckwheat and set to simmer.
- 5
Step 5

When the porridge comes to a boil, carefully place the meatballs on top of it. To keep the meatballs intact, it is important that the heat under the pan is at its maximum.
- 6
Step 6

When the porridge comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium, cover the pan with a lid, and simmer for 30-35 minutes. The porridge should absorb all the liquid and become fluffy.
