Greek yogurt
Description
Perfect with meals and drinks. This recipe makes a delicious, very mild and delicate dairy dish—I recommend trying it! Of course, I've tried making the dish with different starters, but as you might guess, only the starter from "Izbenka" makes Greek yogurt taste like the one this brand produces itself! So give it a try—here's the recipe. It can be served warm or chilled.

Step 1

1. The milk should not be pasteurized or boiled; it’s best to use rich homemade milk. Heat it in a clean saucepan to no more than 40°C.

Step 2

2. Next, add the starter culture and mix gently. Cover the yogurt container with a lid and wrap it in a towel; let it stand for 8 hours, and during that time do not shake or stir it.

Step 3

3. You will get a slightly runny yogurt. It is already ready to eat, but Greek yogurt is thicker on its own, so I strain it again through a sieve and let it rest for another couple of hours. Then add a teaspoon of honey and serve the yogurt!
