Cauliflower and Broccoli Gratin
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. To be honest, I wasn't previously a big fan of broccoli and cauliflower, but I often cooked them because my husband absolutely loves cauliflower. While searching for a new recipe, I came across one. The finished dish can be served at the table.
Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. It's best to use fresh cauliflower and broccoli, but if they're out of season, you can use frozen ones.
- 2
Step 2

Separate the cauliflower and broccoli into florets and place them in a baking dish (you can mix them together, or divide the dish in half and place broccoli on one side and cauliflower on the other). Drizzle the vegetables with olive oil and lightly season with salt, then bake in the oven for 10–15 minutes to soften the vegetables.

Step 3

While the vegetables are in the oven, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the butter, add the flour, and stir to cook the flour. Then pour in the milk and, continuously whisking, cook over low heat until slightly thickened. Add a little salt, nutmeg, mustard, and grated cheese. Mix everything thoroughly and cook for another minute, until the sauce reaches the consistency of thin sour cream and becomes completely smooth.

Step 4

Pour the resulting sauce over the vegetables.
- 5
Step 5

Sprinkle a fairly thick layer of breadcrumbs on top. They will create a beautiful golden crust on the surface.
- 6
Step 6

Bake the gratin in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

Step 7

Cauliflower and broccoli gratin is ready! Serve hot!
