Beef steak in sauce
Description
Although the sauce is a classic Japanese one, the dish was invented in America, as in Japan this sauce pairs best with chicken. The cooked steak can be served immediately, sliced into pieces. You can prepare the meat to different degrees of doneness (rare, medium, or well done).

Step 1

1. Rinse the beef steaks. Heat a skillet over high heat and place the beef steaks in it. If the steaks have strips of fat, there's no need to add oil; otherwise, add some oil. Sear the meat until a brown crust forms. If there is excess fat in the skillet, drain it off.

2. Prepare the teriyaki sauce for the steaks by mixing sugar, soy sauce, sake, and rice wine together in a single container. Add the sauce to the pan with the meat and cook the steaks over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats each steak like a glaze.
