Beef in pastry
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Beef in pastry is a really fun dish—I love making it. However, it takes a lot of effort (at least for me). I first came across this recipe online. The classic version of beef in pastry is known by the English name "Wellington," but since this recipe is slightly modified, I decided to name it differently. If you're interested, feel free to compare them. By the way, this dish should definitely be served with fried or roasted potatoes as a side. This is a perfect combination, considered classic in English cuisine. Read on. The finished dish can now be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the piece of meat - rinse, dry, remove fat and membranes. Season with salt and pepper, then place in a large amount of oil in a frying pan to sear.
- 2
Step 2

Sear the piece on all sides until a delicious crust forms.
- 3
Step 3

Then place a piece of meat onto a small plate.
- 4
Step 4

Completely coat it with mustard.
- 5
Step 5

In the same skillet where the meat was sautéed, now sauté the onion. At the same time, chop the mushrooms using a food processor or blender. I used brown mushrooms, so the color turned out this way.
- 6
Step 6

Add the mushrooms to the onion in the frying pan and fry them until all the liquid from the mushrooms has completely evaporated.
- 7
Step 7

Place the bacon on a sheet of plastic wrap.
- 8
Step 8

We spread the mushroom mixture evenly on it.
- 9
Step 9

Place a piece of seared tenderloin in the center and wrap everything tightly. You'll get a cute little cube. Put it in the refrigerator for some time.
- 10
Step 10

On a piece of dough brushed with egg yolk, place our meat cube (don't forget to remove the film!!) and wrap it up.
- 11
Step 11

Make cuts like these. Also brush the outside of the dough with egg yolk. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

Then we take out our pie and slice it. Done!
