Ural-style beef
Description
The recipe won't take much time. I came across several different recipes for Ural-style beef, which is not surprising. People in the Urals love meat and therefore cook it in various ways. I decided to prepare Ural-style beef using one of these recipes—by stewing the meat with sour cream. The result is simply delicious. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Wash and dry the beef, then cut it into medium-sized strips, preferably across the grain, so the meat will be tender. Cover the cut meat with cold water, bring to a simmer, and cook over low heat for 1.5–2 hours, until done.

Step 3

Peel the onion and slice it into half-rings. Pour sunflower oil into a frying pan and place over heat. Add the sliced onion to the heated pan and fry for 3-5 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Add the stewed beef without the broth to the pan with the onion. Season the meat with salt and pepper to taste.
- 5
Step 5

Coat the meat with flour and mix.
- 6
Step 6

Sear the beef with flour and onion in a pan for 5-10 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 7
Step 7

Add the remaining broth to the lightly fried meat.
- 8
Step 8

Then add sour cream. Cover with a lid and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Step 9

Let the dish cool slightly and serve the finished Ural-style beef with herbs and mashed potatoes.
