Hot Rolls at Home
Description
A tasty appetizer for any gathering. Make rolls from cooked rice, nori, salmon, and cucumber. Cut the finished rolls and bake them in the oven. Serve the appetizer at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

To make salmon rolls, you will need rice — preferably sushi rice, smoked salmon, cucumber, mayonnaise, soy sauce, nori seaweed, and wasabi.
- 2
Step 2

Prepare the sauce. To do this, finely chop the salmon.
- 3
Step 3

Mix mayonnaise and soy sauce until the mixture is about as thick as thick sour cream. Add the salmon. Let it stand.
- 4
Step 4

Boil the rice until tender. Drain in a colander and let the water drain off. Add vinegar and let stand.
- 5
Step 5

Peel the cucumber and remove the seeds. Cut the cucumber and salmon into sticks.
- 6
Step 6

Wrap the bamboo mat in plastic wrap. Place a sheet of nori and spread a thin layer of rice on top, leaving 1–2 cm on one edge. Add the cucumber and salmon.
- 7
Step 7

Start rolling the roll, pressing evenly from the top. Brush the nori not covered with rice with water to improve stickiness.
- 8
Step 8

Place the rolled roll on a flat surface and trim 2–3 mm from the sides to even out the roll.
- 9
Step 9

Cut into 2 equal halves.
- 10
Step 10

Cut the roll into 6–8 pieces using a sharp knife.
- 11
Step 11

Place on a baking sheet and pour the sauce over.
- 12
Step 12

Bake under the grill for 10 minutes at 200 °C. Serve warm with wasabi.
