Pink salmon with potatoes in the oven
Description
This simple recipe for salmon with potatoes baked in the oven is a real gem. It's truly a versatile dish—you can prepare it for an everyday dinner, yet it's perfectly suitable for a festive table as well. This recipe has saved me more than once. The combination of ingredients is indeed excellent: the cream makes the fish tender and delicate, the cheese adds juiciness and aroma, and the potatoes, soaked in the salmon juices, turn into a perfect side dish. My guests are always delighted and start praising my cooking skills, even though there's absolutely nothing complicated about it—I'd even say this dish is one of the easiest to prepare. So if you're expecting guests soon and want to feed them heartily and deliciously, let me now show you how to make baked salmon with potatoes—no one will leave the table hungry.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First of all, prepare all the necessary ingredients so they are at hand. I'd like to point out here that it's better to use fillet for this dish, so if you have a whole fish, it's preferable to remove the meat from the bones yourself.
- 2
Step 2

Now we need to cut the fillet into portion-sized pieces (usually I slice them into 5-6 centimeter wide pieces). Sprinkle them with salt, pepper, fish seasoning, and pour lemon juice over them. Mix well and let marinate for a while.
- 3
Step 3

Meanwhile, we peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces of any shape you prefer, as long as they are not too thick, otherwise the potatoes won't bake properly. The cut potatoes should also be salted and seasoned, then mixed well.

Step 4

Now grease the baking dishes with butter and place the potato pieces on them.
- 5
Step 5

The next layer is the fish fillet, spread it out evenly, then pour over the cream. Cover the dish with foil and place it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your potato layer, but usually takes from 45 minutes to an hour. To check for doneness, simply pierce the potatoes (you can do it right through the foil); if they are soft, it's ready.

Step 6

When the potatoes are ready, remove the dish from the oven, take off the foil, and sprinkle the fish with cheese. Put it back in the oven for a few more minutes.
- 7
Step 7

That's it, actually! As I said, nothing complicated. Now let's serve the fish with potatoes onto plates and treat our dear guests. Enjoy your meal, everyone!
