
Cabbage rolls with meat, rice, and mushrooms
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Cabbage rolls are a dish belonging to many countries around the world. They consist of filling wrapped in cabbage leaves. A stuffing made of meat, mushrooms, and rice is probably the most common in our region. These cabbage rolls turn out juicy, tender, and fragrant with a delicious mushroom flavor. I can't say the dish is very simple, but nothing about it is particularly complicated. It just requires time and patience. Good luck! Serve hot.

Prepare the ingredients for making stuffed cabbage rolls.

Pass the pork meat, chicken fillet, and garlic through a meat grinder. Cook the rice until done, drain through a sieve, then add to the meat.

Chop the onion and mushrooms finely, but not too small. Place in a frying pan.

Pour in the sunflower oil and fry the mushrooms with the onion for 7-8 minutes until soft, stirring occasionally.

Cool the fried mushrooms with onions slightly and add to the mince.

Season the minced meat with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.

Make cuts around the cabbage head and place it in a pot with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10-15 minutes. Then, using forks, remove the cabbage leaves one by one from the head. Cool the cabbage leaves.

On a cabbage leaf, cut off the thickened part and place a portion of the filling.

Then fold the cabbage leaf with the filling into a envelope shape.

Do the same with all the minced meat and cabbage leaves.

Place tomato paste, salt, and sugar into a saucepan or skillet with a thick bottom or non-stick coating.

Pour 500 ml of hot water and mix well.

Place the cabbage rolls in a saucepan with the sauce. Add bay leaf.

Cover the pot with a lid and simmer the cabbage rolls over medium heat for 60–80 minutes, or until cooked through.
