
Cabbage Rolls "Under a Fur Coat" Baked in the Oven

You can prepare cabbage rolls under a vegetable "coat" in the oven not only for a family dinner but also for any festive table. The dish is tender, juicy, and extremely delicious! Be sure to try it! You can substitute regular cabbage with Chinese cabbage, and besides tomatoes, use other seasonal vegetables of your choice for the topping—there's plenty of room for creativity here. Prepare all the ingredients.

Fry the onion with the carrot until soft.

Rinse the rice and cook in salted water until half-done.

Add the vegetable sauté, rice, salt, and spices to taste to the minced meat.

Prepare the cabbage for cabbage rolls. The easiest way is to place the whole head in the microwave for 5–10 minutes (at around 900W), then rinse it under cold water. The leaves will separate easily and without damage. To make the leaves even softer, I then boil them in salted water for a couple more minutes.

For the sauce, mix sour cream, tomato paste, and minced garlic. Add salt to taste.

Form the cabbage rolls.

Sear the ready cabbage rolls over high heat on both sides.

Then arrange in a single layer in a baking dish, pour over the sauce, cover with foil, and bake in the oven at 180-200 degrees for about 30-40 minutes.

Then remove the cabbage rolls and take off the foil.

Place the diced tomatoes on the cabbage rolls and sprinkle everything with grated cheese. Put the dish in the oven for another 15-20 minutes.
