Dutch ham roll
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Today I want to offer you a recipe. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Take the dough out of the refrigerator about 15–20 minutes beforehand to let it thaw slightly, otherwise you won't be able to roll it out. While the dough is thawing, finely dice the ham, gherkins, and tomato.
- 2
Step 2

Roll out the puff yeast dough to a thickness of approximately 2-3 mm, no more.
- 3
Step 3

Brush with mustard. Usually, I spread 2 tablespoons of mustard over a 30x20 cm dough sheet. If you prefer it spicier, use more.
- 4
Step 4

First, layer the finely grated cheese, then the chopped ham.
- 5
Step 5

Next, add the chopped gherkins and tomato. Sprinkle grated cheese on top as well.
- 6
Step 6

Roll the dough into a tight roll, sealing the edges so that the juice released from the filling does not leak out.
- 7
Step 7

Transfer the dough to a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the roll in the oven at 180°C (356°F) for 20-25 minutes. Keep in mind that all ovens bake differently; it took me 25 minutes, but yours may require more or less time. Watch for the dough to turn golden brown on top and make sure the bottom doesn't burn.

Step 8

Slightly cool the ready Dutch roll, slice it, and serve warm—it's most delicious this way!
