Mulled wine with star anise
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If desired, sugar in mulled wine can be replaced with honey, adding it directly to the drink once it has cooled down to 35 degrees to preserve honey's beneficial properties. Serve mulled wine as an aperitif for dinner or at a party among friends. The drink is ready to serve.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Wash the apples in water, cut them into four parts, and remove the cores. Slice each quarter directly into the pot.
- 3
Step 3

Peel the tangerine and remove the white fibers, then separate the fruit into segments. If there are any seeds, remove them. Instead of a tangerine, you can use an orange.
- 4
Step 4

Pour granulated sugar into the pot with the fruits, add cinnamon sticks and star anise. You can substitute the sticks with ground cinnamon.
- 5
Step 5

Pour in hot water and place the pot on the stove, boil the compote for 7-10 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

As soon as the apples and citrus fruits release their color, flavor, and aroma into the liquid, reduce the heat to the minimum.
- 7
Step 7

Pour red wine into a container and heat it almost to boiling, but do not boil. Turn off the heat and let the glühwein cool for about 10 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Then pour the drink into glasses, cups, or tin mugs and serve warm.
