Hard glaze for Easter bread

30 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

Homemade baked goods for tea. We are all used to soft glaze based on egg whites, deliciously dripping down the sides of sweet breads. But I want to suggest to you a completely different, yet equally interesting option. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

First, place the marshmallows into a small bowl and put them in the microwave for about 30 seconds.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Meanwhile, melt the butter.

  3. 3

    Step 3

Combine the soft marshmallow with the butter and whisk until smooth.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Add a pinch of salt.

  5. 5

    Step 5

Squeeze some lemon juice and add it to the mixture. Beat thoroughly once again.

  6. 6

    Step 6

Sift the powdered sugar separately, then gradually add it to the bowl in small portions. When the mixture becomes quite thick, transfer it to the work surface and continue kneading by hand. Since you can make the Easter bread glaze not only white but also colored, you can add food coloring during the process.

  7. 7

    Step 7

When the fondant becomes smooth and moderately soft, let it rest for a while, first wrapping it in plastic wrap.

  8. 8

    Step 8

Then roll it out very thinly and place it on the buns. By the way, this original glaze can be used not only for the top of the baked goods, but also wrapped around the base. Decorate to taste—and that's it, beauty is ready on your table!
