Gyuvech with rice

Description

Perfect with tea and coffee. As it turns out, gyuvech can also be made with rice. The dish belongs to Moldavian, Bulgarian, and Romanian cuisines. This dish can also be found in Hungarian cuisine. It turned out hearty and very tasty! Give it a try! You can use any seasonal vegetables and combine them to taste. It can be served with tea or coffee.

    Prepare all the ingredients.

    Cut all the vegetables, except the tomatoes, into large cubes and transfer them to a hot frying pan with oil.

    Add the rinsed rice, salt to taste, and sauté everything together for 5–7 minutes.

    Slice the tomatoes into rounds and arrange them in a baking dish greased with oil. Add salt and pepper to taste.

    Spread the rice with vegetables evenly over the top.

    Cover the rice with the remaining tomatoes. Also salt the tomatoes and add pepper to taste. Pour in boiling water, cover the dish with foil, and bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 40 minutes.

    A few minutes before it is done, prepare the sauce. Pour a tablespoon of oil into a frying pan, add the flour, and lightly fry it. Then gradually pour in the milk, season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil, add the grated cheese, stir, and immediately remove from the heat.
