
Dumplings with liver
Description
The recipe won't take much time. I suggest you try making dumplings with liver. The dough is made with kefir, eggs, and butter. The dumplings turn out tender and soft, and combined with liver, this dish is not only filling and budget-friendly, but also delicious. You can use any type of liver—mine is tender chicken liver. You can also cook the liver with chicken hearts or various vegetables, as you prefer. Give it a try. Serve hot.

Prepare all the ingredients.

In a deep bowl, add 2 cups of flour and 0.5 tsp of salt.

Add kefir and egg.

Mix and add vegetable oil.

Then, if necessary, add more flour and knead a soft dough that does not stick to your hands. Cover the dough with a clean towel for now. Let's prepare the filling.

Rinse the liver and boil in boiling water for 10 minutes.

Cool the cooked liver, then grind it through a meat grinder.

Divide the dough into 4 parts. Roll each part in flour and roll into a log. Then cut the log into small pieces. Press each piece in the center with your finger to create a dimple. The size of the dumplings can be any according to your preference; I like them the size of a large cherry. Keep in mind that the dough will expand during cooking.

Boil the ready-made dumplings in salted boiling water for 5-10 minutes, depending on their size.

Cut the onion into cubes and sauté in butter until soft.

Drain the water from the dumplings and add them to the pan with the onion. Fry together for 5 minutes.

Add the liver and chopped garlic. If necessary, add salt and black pepper to taste.
