
Meatballs with bell pepper and pineapple
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The pleasant contrast of sweet pineapple and spicy sauce makes these meatballs delicious. You can serve them with rice as a side dish or on their own as a skewered appetizer. Serve hot.

1. Finely chop the onion. Coarsely chop the bell pepper. Mix the ground beef, chopped onion, egg, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and red pepper with your hands. Shape the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet or tray. Put the tray with the meatballs in the freezer for 15 minutes.

2. Mix together beef broth, soy sauce, sherry (or vinegar), sugar, and cornstarch.

3. Heat rapeseed oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Coat the meatballs in flour, then fry in 2 batches until browned, about 2 minutes per batch. Remove the meatballs from the pan and set aside.

4. Drain the oil from the skillet and heat it over medium heat. Add the sliced bell pepper and cook for one minute. Add the pineapple and cook for one minute, stirring gently. Pour in the soy sauce mixture, then add the meatballs.

5. Gently stir and cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens. Add salt and red pepper to taste. This dish will be much more flavorful if you add more pepper. Serve the meatballs with brown or white rice.
