IKEA meatballs
Description
The recipe won't take much time. To make meatballs of uniform size, use a teaspoon to scoop the ground meat and shape firm balls by rolling them between your palms. Swedish meatballs usually don't exceed 5 centimeters in diameter. Meatballs baked in the oven have a crispy crust. If you prefer them softer, place them in a creamy sauce and simmer gently for a short time. Serve hot.
Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the meat mixture. Place the meat into a bowl and add milk and eggs. Finely chop an onion and add it to the bowl, along with salt, nutmeg, and ground pepper. Then add breadcrumbs and 2 tablespoons of soft butter.

Step 2

Mix the ground meat thoroughly, then refrigerate for an hour. Preheat the oven to 210 degrees, line a baking sheet with foil, and start shaping small, evenly-sized meatballs. Place them on the baking sheet and bake for about half an hour.

Now you can prepare the sauce. To make it, mix 2 tablespoons of butter with flour and sauté in a pan until it turns slightly brown. Then add broth and cream, a little salt and pepper. Cook the sauce over low heat until it thickens slightly.

Step 4

Place the cooked meatballs on a plate and pour over the creamy sauce. Meatballs are usually served with mashed potatoes. Another essential accompaniment to the dish is lingonberry jam.
