French meat
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Who doesn't love meat, especially baked with potatoes and cheese? Some people add mushrooms, but the modern interpretation of meat à la française doesn't require it. Try preparing this French-style meat casserole exactly according to this recipe. It will be suitable even for a festive table. Serve hot.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Prepare all the ingredients in advance and be sure to use defrosted meat. Slice the potatoes into rings. Pork is the best choice for the meat—it turns out especially juicy and flavorful when combined with the other ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

2. I prepare French meat in the form of a casserole—it's simple and convenient to slice, and it cooks faster. Take a baking dish and grease it well with oil. Now we'll start layering the ingredients one by one.

Step 3

3. In this case, proportions aren't important—estimate the amount of ingredients by eye, depending on the size of your baking dish. We start with a layer of potatoes—a sort of "cushion" for the meat. Arrange them overlapping. I always use a sprig of rosemary.

Step 4

4. Slice the pork into strips about 5 centimeters wide and no more than 5 mm thick. Salt the potatoes and, if desired, spread with mayonnaise.
- 5
Step 5

5. Place the sliced onion rings, spreading them evenly over the surface.
- 6
Step 6

6. On the onion, I place another layer of potatoes. The next layer is grated cheese. Add more cheese—it will make the casserole tastier.

Step 7

7. Mix the mayonnaise with milk (this way you won't need to spread mayonnaise between the layers), and pour it over the contents so that the sauce barely covers the surface.
- 8
Step 8

8. Place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until golden brown (approximately 40 minutes).
- 9
Step 9

9. Let it cool slightly, then serve.
