
French Apple Pie
Description
The recipe won't take much time. This upside‑down pie can be made even by a beginner cook. The pie is incredibly fragrant and light. Serve it cooled or slightly warm.

1. Let's make the dough. Sprinkle sifted flour onto a board, add a little salt and place frozen butter on the flour. Cut it with a knife until it becomes fine crumbs. Crack the eggs, separate the yolks and pour them into the flour. Add a little water to bind and knead the dough. In the finished dough you should feel the butter crumbs. It will turn out a little. A teaspoon next to it for comparison.

2. For the filling, wash the apples. No need to peel them. Cut each apple into 4–6 pieces and drizzle with lemon juice so they don’t darken.

3. Pour the honey into the pan and bring it to a boil. The honey will start to bubble vigorously. Add cinnamon and stir.

4. Reduce the heat to minimum and place the apples on the honey. Arrange them very tightly next to each other.

5. While the skillet is on the heat, roll out the dough very quickly. Roll a sheet of dough onto a rolling pin and cover the apples in the skillet. Fold the edges of the dough and pierce them in several places with a fork. Place the skillet in the oven. Bake the pie at 180 °C for about 30 minutes.

6. When the dough is baked, remove the pan from the oven, cover it with a plate and flip it.
