French Toast

Description

This recipe won't take much time. The French "Croque-monsieur" got its name from bread fried in egg—"croque." The "monsieur" part was added, it is said, by accident: waiters practically tacked "monsieur" onto every word, and it stuck. The toast itself is easy to make! Make béchamel, grate the cheese. Layer everything on the bread and bake in the oven. The appetizer is ready. Serve right away.
