Trout in a wok
Description
Since fish dishes must be part of our diet, I believe you should definitely include this simple recipe for trout in a wok in your menu. Actually, this is a versatile dish—its flavor is so bright and delicious that you can even prepare it for a celebration and impress your guests with this interesting fish. However, even if you cook wok-trout for an ordinary family dinner at home, your loved ones will undoubtedly be delighted. 1) First, we need to prepare all the ingredients for the sauce. Pour cold water over the chili pepper and let it soak for about 5 minutes. Peel the shallot and slice it into thin half-rings, slice the garlic, and finely chop the fresh herbs. Once the chili pepper has softened slightly, thoroughly dry it and cut it into pieces or simply tear it by hand. 2) Place the wok over heat and pour in about 2 tablespoons of oil. When the oil is hot, add the chili pepper, shallot, and garlic. Add sugar, fish sauce, and soy sauce, stir-fry for a couple of minutes, then turn off the heat. Transfer the prepared sauce to a clean plate, sprinkle with chopped herbs, and add rice vinegar. 3) Now thoroughly rinse the trout and pat it dry. Sprinkle the fish evenly with flour on all sides, then shake off any excess flour. 4) Wipe the wok with paper towels, place it over heat, and add oil. When the oil is hot, place the trout in the wok. Fry the fish for approximately 4–5 minutes on each side, then transfer it onto paper towels to absorb excess oil. 5) Place the cooked fish onto a serving plate, pour the sauce over it, and serve. Enjoy your meal!
