
Focaccia with Provencal herbs
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. Italian pastry with a French twist: focaccia with Provencal herbs. This focaccia can confidently be served instead of bread with soups, salads, and appetizers. It will be delicious served warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Step 1
Take a small bowl, mix sugar and warm water in it, then add dry yeast. Let this mixture sit at room temperature for 10 minutes until it starts to foam.

Take another bowl, a larger one, and add 3 cups of flour, salt, and the yeast dissolved in water with sugar. Mix everything into a dough for 5 minutes, first with a spoon, then with fingers, and finally with hands. When the dough starts sticking to your hands, add the remaining flour and knead for another couple of minutes.

Shape the resulting dough into a ball, cover it with a towel, and let it sit at room temperature for 2 hours.

When the dough has risen and doubled in volume, spread it into a baking pan, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle Provencal herbs on top. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180°C, then remove from the oven and let it sit covered with a towel for a few more minutes. That's it, Provencal herb focaccia is ready!
