Grilled filet mignon
Description
The recipe won't take much time. It's better to light the grill for the steak several hours before the planned cooking time. Don't forget to take the meat out of the refrigerator so it can reach room temperature. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Choose a thick piece of meat. The thicker the cut, the easier it is to cook and avoid overcooking.
- 2
Step 2

2. Decide when you will season the steak—before or after cooking. If seasoning before cooking, do so 30–40 minutes beforehand. Otherwise, the salt will draw out the juices and ruin the meat.
- 3
Step 3

3. For frying, use filet mignon at room temperature. This will make the meat more tender.
- 4
Step 4

4. Brush the filet mignon with oil (preferably neutral in flavor) on both sides.
- 5
Step 5

5. Move the charcoal to one side of the grill and place the grate.
- 6
Step 6

6. Grill the filet mignon for 2-5 minutes on each side. The longer the cooking time, the more well-done the meat will be.
- 7
Step 7

7. Never pierce the steak with a fork! Use tongs instead.
- 8
Step 8

8. Place the cooked filet mignon on a plate and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Then season with pepper and serve.
- 9
Step 9

9. Grilled filet mignon is ready!
