2. Peel and finely chop the onion. Let the cooked rice cool.

Step 3

3. Wash the carrots, peel and grate on a medium or fine grater.

Step 4

4. Wash the mushrooms (in this case, champignons), dry them, and cut into small pieces.

Step 5

5. If desired, the vegetables can be lightly sautéed in vegetable or butter oil. However, in this case, for a healthier version, they should simply be combined in one bowl together with the rice.

Step 6

6. Wash the chicken fillet, dry it, and cut into small cubes.

Step 7

7. Add to the filling. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly.

Step 8

8. Wash the peppers and remove the stems and seeds carefully, without damaging them. Canned peppers are also suitable. Fresh peppers should be briefly dipped in boiling water for about a minute; this will make the stuffed peppers incredibly tender when cooked in a steamer at home.

Step 9

9. All that's left is to stuff the peppers with the meat mixture and place them in a steamer. The dish will be ready in 35–40 minutes. Before serving, you can garnish with fresh herbs.
