Stuffed peppers with sauce
Description
Stuffed peppers with sauce are a classic dish, very popular and prepared in almost every family. We make them too, especially in summer when fresh peppers grow in our garden, following our own recipe. I really like this dish: it's quite budget-friendly, requires no exotic or expensive ingredients, yet the result is both delicious and festive. Highly recommended! :)
Instructions

Step 1

We thoroughly wash the peppers, cut off their tops, and remove the cores. Do not throw away the cut tops — we will need them later. Meanwhile, add the washed rice to boiling salted water and cook for 7 minutes (until half-cooked). Drain the rice in a colander.

Step 2

Peel and finely chop the onion. Wash and finely chop the herbs. Sauté the onion in oil until golden brown (about 3 minutes over medium heat), add the herbs, stir, and sauté for another minute. Remove from heat, season with salt and pepper, and divide the sautéed mixture into two equal parts.

Step 3

Mix half of the sautéed mixture with rice cooked until half-done and the ground meat, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Use this mixture to stuff the peppers. Cover the peppers with their cut-off tops.

Step 4

Now the most interesting part—let's prepare the sauce. In a skillet, combine the remaining half of the sautéed mixture, mayonnaise, ketchup, and 150 ml of water. Cook for 5 minutes over low heat, stirring.

Step 5

Place the stuffed peppers in a wide pot and pour the sauce over them. Put the pot over medium heat and cook for 35 minutes, covered.

That's it - the stuffed peppers with sauce are ready. :)
