
Stuffed Mussels in the Oven
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. This appetizer is unreal! Mussels are cut into pieces, then mixed with herbs, cheese, and breadcrumbs. The finished filling is placed in the shells and baked in the oven. You can customize the filling to your taste by adding vegetables or other ingredients. It can be served warm or chilled.

1. Pour water into a saucepan so that it covers the bottom by 3 cm. Bring the liquid to a boil, then add the mussels; once it returns to a boil, cook everything for 6–10 minutes. After the required time, drain the mussels in a colander and discard any that did not open. Carefully remove the mussels and chop them finely; split the shells in half.

2. In a skillet, melt the butter, add the chopped onion and garlic, and cook for 2-3 minutes.

3. Place the chopped parsley, breadcrumbs, chopped mussels, lemon juice, and the broth left from the mussels into the skillet. Sauté everything for a few minutes, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Fill 10–12 shells with the filling, sprinkle with grated cheese, and place on a baking sheet. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 20–25 minutes.

5. Serve the appetizer immediately or after it has cooled; it tastes better when served right away.
