Stuffed Mushrooms in an Air Fryer
Description
Perfect for both special occasions and everyday meals. Stuffed mushrooms cooked in an air fryer stay juicy and tender, yet turn out incredibly flavorful and beautifully golden. If you don’t have this handy kitchen appliance, you can bake the mushrooms in the oven or cook them on the grill. A wonderful option for both weeknight dinners and festive tables—and you can stuff the mushrooms with whatever filling you like best. Quick, easy, and insanely delicious—be sure to give it a try. Can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all ingredients according to the list. Choose mushrooms that are firm and roughly the same size; if the onion is small, use a couple of them.
- 2
Step 2

Clean the mushrooms of any dirt. Remove the stems. Without damaging the caps, you can also scrape out the inside with a teaspoon.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the mushroom stems into small cubes. Place on a preheated dry skillet.
- 4
Step 4

When the liquid has evaporated, add vegetable oil.
- 5
Step 5

Also add finely diced onion, salt, and ground pepper to taste.
- 6
Step 6

Sauté the onions with mushrooms until golden.
- 7
Step 7

Transfer the filling to a deep bowl. Let it cool. Add cheese grated on a fine grater (set a little aside for the top), and add mayonnaise to taste. You can also add fresh herbs—I used parsley and dill.
- 8
Step 8

Mix.
- 9
Step 9

Fill the mushroom caps with the prepared filling. Place in the air fryer basket.
- 10
Step 10

Bake at 160 degrees for 25 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

5 minutes before it's done, sprinkle the top with the remaining cheese.
- 12
Step 12

Stuffed mushrooms in the air fryer are ready.
- 13
Step 13

Serve with meat, vegetables, and sauces, or as a standalone appetizer.
