Stuffed chicken drumsticks

Description

I think cooking these stuffed chicken drumsticks at home is quite economical, since the drumsticks themselves cost next to nothing, and you can choose any filling you like. Usually, I buy sausages (pork or beef), remove the casings, and use the sausage meat as the filling—it's very convenient and quick. Otherwise, the recipe for preparing stuffed chicken drumsticks is quite simple, and now I'll describe everything to you in detail.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, we need to remove the bone from the shin, so we take the edge of the bone (the one closer to the thigh) and make a circular cut around it so that the meat separates more easily.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Using your fingers to help, separate the meat from the bone and push it downward (like a sock).

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

When the meat is separated, we trim it.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Everything needs to be done carefully to avoid damaging the integrity of the meat and skin.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

We peel the pork sausages, mash the sausage meat by hand, and use it to stuff the chicken drumsticks. The sausage meat is already seasoned, so it doesn't require additional salt or spices. However, the drumsticks themselves should be rubbed with your favorite spices on the outside and lightly sprinkled with salt.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Slice the onion into rings and mix with vegetable oil. Place the onion in a baking dish, then put the stuffed drumsticks on top. Place the dish in a preheated oven at 190°C for 15 minutes. After that time, turn the drumsticks over, pour melted butter over them, and bake for another 20 minutes at 220°C.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

While the drumsticks are roasting, melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan. Add chopped shallot and minced garlic, sauté until soft, then stir in flour and cook for another couple of minutes, stirring constantly. Next, pour in the broth and milk, continue heating the sauce while stirring until it thickens. Then remove the sauce from the heat, add a pinch of nutmeg and grated cheese, and stir until the cheese has completely melted.

    Step 8

    Step 8

Pour a couple of spoonfuls of the prepared sauce onto a plate, place the rings of baked onion and the stuffed drumstick on top, and serve the dish. Enjoy your meal!
