Meatballs in the microwave

Description

To serve your family a delicious main course, you don't necessarily need a stove or oven—just use a microwave. In just 5–8 minutes, you'll have flavorful steamed minced meat without any excess oil. For extra taste, add grated onion, garlic, tomatoes, bell pepper, and your favorite spices and herbs. If your kids don't like vegetables, simply stick to seasoning.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Use ready-made minced meat or prepare it yourself by grinding pork through a meat grinder. If using frozen product, make sure to defrost it for 1 hour and drain off any released liquid. If adding onion or garlic, peel and rinse them.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Place the minced meat in a deep bowl or salad bowl, but avoid ones with silver or gold lines, and do not use plastic or aluminum! Sprinkle with the prepared seasoning. You can use ground dried garlic, dried tomatoes with basil, oregano, etc. Thoroughly mix all the contents of the container.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap to allow the meat mixture to steam during cooking. Keep in mind that the total volume will reduce by about one-third—the meat will release liquid. When preparing for several people and increasing the amount of mixture in the bowl, you'll need to stir the meat thoroughly several times, using the microwave in 3–5 minute intervals. Make sure the plastic wrap packaging is labeled as "microwave-safe."

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Turn on the heating for 10 minutes, but after 5 minutes carefully open the appliance door slightly, lift the plastic wrap without burning yourself. Stir the minced meat to ensure even cooking, then continue cooking, remembering to cover it again with plastic wrap. The meat will release broth and form large clumps—remove the plastic wrap and gently break up the clumps with a fork, draining off the liquid.

    Step 5

Boil spaghetti, buckwheat, rice, or serve any other side dish made of fresh or fermented vegetables. Add the prepared minced meat to the plate and enjoy an excellent breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Don't forget the sauces.
