Description

The classic recipe for minced meat wrapped in foil and baked in the oven is enhanced in this case with an omelet and cheese, although you can use any other filling of your choice. The minced meat can be not only beef, but also pork or chicken, depending on your taste preferences.

    1. First, you need to prepare the filling. To do this, wash, dry, and pass the meat through a meat grinder. Peel the onion and also mince it in the meat grinder or finely dice. Peel the carrot and grate finely. Soak a couple of bread slices in milk for 2-3 minutes, then add them to the meat grinder. Wash, dry, and chop the fresh herbs. Add 1 egg, season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything thoroughly. If the mixture turns out too dry, add 1-2 tablespoons of sour cream or mayonnaise. You can use not only this recipe but also your favorite version for preparing the filling in foil in the oven.

    4. To get a neat meat mixture in foil when baking in the oven at home, use plastic wrap. Place the meat mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap and spread it out, leaving a border around the edges. Place several slices of cheese and strips of omelet on top of the meat mixture.

    5. Using plastic wrap, roll the meat mixture into a roll, pressing tightly each time and smoothing the edges.

    6. When the roll is ready, it can be placed on a sheet of foil. If the filling is lean, the foil can be lightly greased with vegetable oil.

    7. Tightly wrap the foil to prevent the juices from leaking during cooking. Place the roll on a baking sheet or in a baking dish and put it in a preheated oven. Depending on the thickness of the roll, the meat filling will be ready in 35–55 minutes. Serve as a main dish or as an appetizer.
