Meatloaf under a "shuba" in the oven
Description
The recipe won't take much time. For the filling, I recommend using pork or a pork-beef mix. Chicken will turn out drier and less filling. You can substitute mozzarella for baking with any hard cheese. Optionally, add some herbs or another vegetable, such as a bit of pumpkin or zucchini, to the potato mixture. I'll explain in detail. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the main ingredients. Peel and wash the potatoes and onions.
- 2
Step 2

Finely chop the onion. Mix the minced meat with the onion, milk, and semolina. Season with salt to taste. Knead well and set aside. Prepare the potato layer.
- 3
Step 3

Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater. Add eggs and flour. Mix and season with salt to taste.
- 4
Step 4

Grease a baking dish (30x20 cm or 26 cm in diameter) with vegetable oil. Spread the minced meat evenly as the first layer.
- 5
Step 5

Spread the potatoes as the second layer. Bake for 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
- 6
Step 6

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. After the time has elapsed, remove the casserole from the oven, sprinkle with cheese, and return to the oven for another 10 minutes. If your oven has a "grill" setting, you can finish by broiling the casserole under the grill at 220 degrees for the last three minutes.

Step 7

Meatball under the coat is ready!
