
Beef and rice balls in sauce

1. The minced meat is prepared in a traditional way: wash and dry the meat, then pass it through a meat grinder. Add chopped onion, salt and pepper to taste, and an egg. Boil the rice until half-cooked and place it in a bowl.

2. Add a little water to the minced meat to make the "hedgehogs" more tender. Mix thoroughly.

3. Prepare a heatproof baking dish. Place the hedgehogs into it, shaping them from the minced meat with wet hands. A scoop for ice cream can also be convenient to use, if you have one.

4. Set the meatballs aside and preheat the oven to 200 degrees. While it is heating up, you can prepare the sauce. Melt a little butter in a frying pan and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.

5. Peel and grate the carrot. Add to the pan and fry for another 5 minutes, stirring.

6. Place the flour on the pan and mix.

8. For a more intense color, I recommend adding tomato paste. Pour in the remaining broth (the amount depends on the size of your baking dish for the hedgehogs). Season with salt and pepper to taste.

9. Pour in the cream, heat the sauce for a couple of minutes — then remove it from the heat.
