Baked buns
Description
This amount of dough yields 8–10 buns. If you'd like to make a smaller portion, you can roll out half of the dough and keep the rest in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. I wouldn't say the buns are very dry, but they definitely taste better with sauces, for example, salsa or even guacamole. Serve cooled down or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Sift the flour with salt into the bowl of a mixer.
- 2
Step 2

Add shortening and butter, cut into pieces, and mix with the flour in several pulsing motions, gradually adding water.
- 3
Step 3

Take out the dough and quickly knead by hand, then divide into 2 pieces, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Now prepare the filling. Fry the minced meat in oil for 7-8 minutes, add salt and pepper. Chop all the vegetables and add them to the meat along with the sauce. Cook until the liquid has evaporated.
- 5
Step 5

Take out the dough and roll it out into a sheet about 3 mm thick. Cut out circles with a diameter of 10-12 cm. Place a small amount of filling on each circle and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- 6
Step 6

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Shape the buns by folding the dough as shown in the photo and pressing the edges with a fork.
- 7
Step 7

Bake for 22-25 minutes. Serve the buns warm with your favorite sauces and dips.
