
Steamed yeast dumplings
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Knead the dough for yeast dumplings and let it rise for 20 minutes. Then divide the dough into portions and shape the dumplings, adding filling. You can use any filling you like—mashed potatoes, cabbage, cottage cheese, etc. Steam the dumplings for 5 minutes. Drizzle with sautéed onions and butter, then serve. The dish is ready to be served.

Knead the dumpling dough. To do this, mix water, salt, sugar, yeast, and flour. Let it rise for 20 minutes.

If you don't have a special mantu pot or a steamer, you can use my grandmother's method, just like I do: fill a pot with water about one-third full, cover it with cheesecloth, and place it over the heat.

Roll out the dumpling dough not too thin, add 1.5–2 teaspoons of filling per dumpling, and seal the dumplings.

When the water comes to a boil, place the dumplings on a cloth, cover with a lid, and cook for 5 minutes.

Sauté the chopped onion in butter and pour this sauce over the cooked dumplings to prevent them from sticking together. Then serve.
