
Yeasted khachapuri

We start preparing the delicious khachapuri by making the yeast dough. Pour the dry yeast into a separate container, then add warm water and sugar. Leave the mixture in a warm place for 15 minutes.

Melt the butter in a water bath and add it to the mixture with the yeast. It is important not to make the butter too hot. Add the salt and mix everything until smooth.

Add the sifted flour and knead the yeast dough. Cover it with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for one hour.

Meanwhile, prepare the filling for khachapuri. To do this, mix the grated cheese with melted butter and egg whites.

Roll out the prepared dough into a flatbread and place the cheese filling in the center.

Gather the edges toward the center, flip the flatbread over, and roll it out with a rolling pin. Poke holes on the surface using a fork, and brush the surface with egg yolk.
