Step 1

1. Let's make a yeast pie with minced meat! To prepare the yeast dough for the meat pie, start by making a starter. Put yeast, sugar, a little salt, and 2-3 tablespoons of sifted flour into a deep bowl. Mix and add slightly warm milk. It's important not to overheat the milk so that the yeast activates properly. Let the resulting yeast mixture sit in a warm place for 15-20 minutes.

2. This time can be used to prepare the remaining ingredients for the dough. Sift the remaining flour and beat the egg. Add the egg, vegetable oil, and a little flour to the sponge and start kneading the dough. The yeast dough should turn out soft and elastic. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for 40–45 minutes.

Step 3

3. Now you can start preparing the filling. Wash the meat, dry it, and grind through a meat grinder into minced meat. Alternatively, you can simply cut it into small pieces. Peel the onion and chop finely, press the garlic through a garlic press. Combine all ingredients with the minced meat, season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix thoroughly. To make the yeast pie with meat juicy, add a little broth or boiled water to the meat filling.

Step 4

4. When the yeast dough has risen, divide it into 2 parts. Use the larger part as the base and the smaller one as the "lid". It's advisable to pre-cook the filling slightly so that the pie bakes thoroughly inside.

Step 5

5. Grease the baking pan with oil or line it with parchment paper. Place most of the dough into the pan and spread it out, forming high edges. Add the meat filling onto the dough and spread it evenly over the surface.

Step 6

6. Cover the meat filling with the second piece of dough and carefully seal the edges so the pie doesn't open during baking. You can also make small holes to allow steam to escape. At this point, let the pie rest for 10–15 minutes, while preheating the oven.

Step 7

7. Bake the pie at 180-190 degrees for about 40 minutes. When ready, brush the top with a little butter to make it softer and give it a nice shine. Let the pie cool slightly in the pan, then serve.
