Description

The recipe won't take much time. This yeast pastry can be made richer by using milk instead of water and melted butter (40–50 grams) instead of sunflower oil when preparing the dough. It can be served with tea or coffee.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare the required ingredients in the specified quantities. Instead of apple jam, you can use any thick jam as desired.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Dissolve the dry yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar to speed up yeast activation.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

In a deep bowl, combine the dry ingredients: sifted flour (200 g), semolina, sugar (50 g), a pinch of salt, and vanilla sugar.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Form a mound with the dry mixture, make a depression in the center, and pour in the yeast dissolved in water.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Combine the ingredients using a spoon, and at the end of kneading, pour in 1-2 tablespoons of sunflower oil and knead the dough by hand, adding flour as needed.

Leave the resulting soft yeast dough in a warm place for 30-40 minutes.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

While the dough is rising, prepare the chocolate crumb topping (streusel). Mix the sifted flour (50 g), granulated sugar (25 g), and cocoa powder, then add sunflower oil (2 tbsp) and use your hands to combine the ingredients until you get a crumbly mixture.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

After the specified amount of time, the dough will have increased in volume. It needs to be kneaded by hand and placed on a working surface.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

For convenience, divide the dough into 2 parts and roll each into a rectangular sheet 4-5 mm thick. Spread a layer of jam on it (leaving small edges), and on top of that, add the chocolate streusel.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

Roll both sheets into rolls and, using a sharp knife, cut them diagonally into slices at a 45-degree angle.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

Using a wooden stick or other suitable tool, shape the cookies into "Franz" buns by turning the triangles onto their wide side and slightly pressing the narrow edge.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, let them rest for 7-10 minutes, and bake in a preheated oven at 180-190 degrees Celsius for 25-30 minutes.

  13. 13

    Step 13

    Step 13

During baking, the cookies slightly increase in size and acquire a pleasant golden color.
