Waffle maker potato pancakes
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Peel the potatoes and grate them—this is easiest done using an electric grater or a food processor with a grating attachment. Add an egg, a handful of flour, and spices. This batter should be used immediately. Preheat the waffle maker, lightly grease it with oil, and cook until the indicator light turns on. Simple, quick, and convenient. Serve the finished dish right away.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Peel and wash the potatoes.
- 2
Step 2

2. Grate the potatoes using an electric grater, food processor with a grating attachment, or a regular grater. You can grate the potatoes either coarsely or finely. Draniki made with finely grated potatoes turn out more uniform.

Step 3

3. Into a bowl with the grated potatoes, add the egg, season with salt and pepper, add the herbs and a couple of tablespoons of wheat flour.
- 4
Step 4

4. Mix the potato filling with a fork or by hand. My potatoes aren't very juicy, so little juice was released during cooking.

Step 5

5. Preheat the waffle maker; I set mine to 4.5 on a maximum heat setting of "5". Lightly grease the waffle maker using a pastry brush or a cotton pad. Place the grated potato onto the waffle maker. I do this by hand, forming a layer that's compact but not too thick.

Step 6

6. Close the waffle maker and cook until golden brown, just over a minute.
- 7
Step 7

7. These potato hearts are what I ended up with. From three potatoes, slightly larger than medium in size, I made 12 potato pancakes.
- 8
Step 8

8. I serve draniki with sour cream and a pickle, enjoy!
