Homemade Apple Marshmallow
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If the apples are sour, you can dust the finished fruit leather with powdered sugar. You can skip the vegetable oil, but using it helps the fruit leather come off the foil or parchment paper more easily. Serve chilled.
Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the apples and cut them into quarters. It is advisable to remove the core. There is no need to peel the skin.

Step 2

Place the prepared apples on a baking sheet, spreading them out evenly. Cover the apples with foil and put them in an oven preheated to 160 degrees. Bake for about 20 minutes, then flip the apples over, remove the foil, and bake for another 10 minutes.

Step 3

Pass the cooked apples through a sieve to obtain apple puree. Now line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and grease it with vegetable oil. Place the apple puree onto the baking sheet and spread it into a very thin layer.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to the lowest temperature and place the baking sheet with the puree inside. Leave the oven door slightly ajar and begin drying the fruit leather. This will take about an hour and a half. Then remove the fruit leather and let it cool. Check its consistency—it should not smear or stick. The texture should resemble thick leather: smooth and elastic. If necessary, continue drying for up to 3 hours.

Step 5

Cut the ready-made pastila into strips of convenient width and peel off the foil. Thanks to the vegetable oil, the pastila should easily come off the foil. To preserve the pastila for winter, it's best to pack it in tightly sealed containers, lightly dusting each strip with starch.
