Homemade condensed milk (perfect)
Description
This amount of ingredients yields 0.5 liters of finished condensed milk. If it seems too liquid to you, don't worry: it will thicken to the familiar consistency once cooled.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Choose milk with a fat content of at least 2.5%. It's also better to use milk with the shortest shelf life. If you have homemade milk, that would be even better.
- 2
Step 2

2. Take a wide-bottomed pot to speed up milk evaporation. Pour the milk into it and place over medium heat. Boil the milk for 10-15 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

3. Measure 270 grams of sugar and add it to the milk. Cook for 45 minutes over medium heat.
- 4
Step 4

4. Be sure to sterilize the jar and lid beforehand if you plan to can the condensed milk instead of eating it all right away :)
- 5
Step 5

5. When the milk becomes thick like pudding, it's time to pour it into a jar. There's no need to wrap the jar—just leave it to cool.
- 6
Step 6

6. When the condensed milk cools down, it will thicken.
