Homemade three-ingredient caramel
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Properly melted sugar is the key to the good taste of the finished caramel. The sugar must not burn. Therefore, be patient and start cooking. The finished dessert can be served at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients to make caramel.
- 2
Step 2

Pour the sugar into a saucepan with a non-stick coating or a thick bottom. Place over heat. On low heat, wait until the sugar begins to melt. Then gradually stir it with a wooden spatula to prevent burning.
- 3
Step 3

Pour the cream into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- 4
Step 4

Gradually, the sugar melts.
- 5
Step 5

Pour the hot cream into the saucepan. First, add a little. Then add the rest. Be careful—the mixture will bubble up and the caramel will harden. This happens because the melted sugar is much hotter than the cream.
- 6
Step 6

At first, the sugar will form hard lumps of solidified caramel. Use a wooden spatula to scrape the bottom of the pot. Cook the caramel over low heat for 5–10 minutes, stirring constantly. The solid caramel will gradually melt.
- 7
Step 7

The hard caramel gradually diminishes, while the liquid caramel mixture becomes thicker.
- 8
Step 8

Almost all the sugar has dissolved.
- 9
Step 9

Add butter to the hot caramel. It will melt immediately. Mix well.
- 10
Step 10

Strain the caramel through a sieve. If there are any sugar lumps left, they must be removed.
- 11
Step 11

Pour the ready-made caramel into small jars and place them in the refrigerator. The caramel will cool and thicken.
- 12
Step 12

If necessary, you can warm it in the microwave to the desired consistency. Enjoy your meal!
