
Homemade boiled pork roast
Description
Homemade boiled pork roast turns out very tender and delicious. You can also add onion, black peppercorns, and a little vinegar to the broth. Before baking, brush the pork roast with orange jam or honey. Homemade boiled pork roast is perfect as a sandwich filling, cold appetizer, or snack, and pairs well with many side dishes, fresh vegetables, and herbs. It can be stored in a closed container in the refrigerator for 4 days.

Peel, rinse, and coarsely chop the celery and carrots.

Remove the zest from the orange, avoiding the white layer.

Place the pork leg, tied with kitchen twine, celery, carrots, bay leaf, a sprig of rosemary, zest, and orange juice into a tall saucepan.

Pour in cold water, just enough to cover the ham.

Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 1.5 hours, keeping the water constantly boiling. Then turn off the heat and let the ham rest in the broth for 1 hour.
